Product Care Guide

Caring for Nubuck Leather Gloves & Buffalo Hide Aprons

Our welding gloves and aprons are crafted from premium materials—nubuck leather and thick (2.7mm) buffalo hide, both treated for water resistance and reinforced with Kevlar threading for extra durability. The gloves also feature a Kevlar lining with a thickness of 0.9-1.0mm, providing added protection. To ensure these products perform at their best, follow the care instructions below.

Nubuck Leather Gloves: What to Do

  1. Clean Regularly: Use a soft-bristle brush to remove dust and dirt from the leather.
  2. Spot Clean: For small stains, use a nubuck eraser. Avoid using water or soap.
  3. Reapply Protection: After cleaning, use a nubuck protector spray to maintain the water-resistant layer. Note, that our products already come with a water-resistant finish.
  4. Dry Properly: If the gloves become wet, pat them dry and allow them to air-dry away from direct sunlight or heat.

Buffalo Hide Aprons: What to Do

  1. Clean Gently: Use a damp cloth (avoid soaking the leather) to remove any surface dirt or stains.
  2. Condition Occasionally: Apply a leather oil-based conditioner designed for thick hides to keep the apron supple. This helps prevent cracking over time.
Note, that it is recommended to always test a small area of your apron first before conditioning the whole product.
  3. Dry Slowly: If the apron gets wet, air-dry it naturally.

What Not to Do (For Both Products)

  • Do Not Wash: Avoid immersing either product in water.
  • Do Not Use Harsh Chemicals: Avoid bleach, soap, or chemical cleaners that can damage the leather.
  • Do Not Tumble Dry: Air-dry both gloves and aprons. Do not use a dryer.
  • Do Not Iron: Heat can damage the leather and its protective coatings.
  • Do Not Dry Clean: For deeper cleaning, use professional leather care services.

For Tough Stains

For difficult stains or damage, consult a leather care professional to avoid permanent damage.
